Reliance Jio converts existing Preview Offer into Jio Welcome Offer

Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio  recently launched jio services with free sim and unlimited access of its digital services to masses  till 31st December 2016 under ‘Welcome Offer’. However, It was not clear what the company would do about the existing subscribers of Jio preview Offer as it used to extend the preview offer by 30 days each time whenever the offer expiration date came closer.

Now, the company has decided to convert existing jio preview offer to welcome offer which will restrict people to use only 4 GB 4G data at high speed every day till 31st December 2016. Hence, all subscribers with LYF Jio Offers, Jio Preview Offers for partner devices such as Samsung, Yu, Micromax etc who used more than 4 Gb 4G data a day will now be restricted to use only 4gb High-Speed data and 128 kbps post 4gb. Many Jio subscribers using Jio Preview Offer consumed 150-180gb of 4G data thus taking undue advantage of such free offer.

We received an SMS from Jio Team regarding this change and extension of free unlimited access to its digital services till 31st December 2016. As the preview offer is converted to welcome offer, subscribers using lyf phones with sims locked with it for 90 days can now use their sims in any 4G enabled mobile phones available in the market. However, for Voice calling they require 4G enabled smartphone which supports VoLTE feature. Very few 4G enabled smartphones available in the market supports VoLTE. In case your phone does not support VoLTE, you can use Jio Join App on Android devices to make 4G voice calls.

This move by Jio Team will have a negative impact on their existing Jio preview offer subscribers who consume more than 4 gb data per day.
